Visit the beaches of Syros for an unforgettable experience. In Syros you will find beaches with amenities such as sunbeds and nearby shops and reastaurants, ideal for families, such as Azolimnos, Vari, Galissas, Kini, Agathopes, Fetouri and Finikas. If you’re looking for more distant beaches you can visit Lotos or Armeos. Watersport lovers can choose Voulgaris or Komito Beach, while those who enjoy nature and wilderness can visit the north beaches, Varvarousa, Aetos, Lia, and Grammata, which are accesible only by boat or by hiking.

The city of Ermoupoli, “the city of Hermes”, overlooked by two cathedral, one of which is Catholic, is the capital city of Syros, beautiful Cyclades island in the heart of the Aegean Sea.

While in Ermoupolis take the chance to visit some of it’s numerous attractions. Begin your tour at the Miaouli sqr where the Town Hall, designed by Ernst Ziller, stands since 1898. Then walk up to the Apollo Theater built as a miniature of the Scala of Milan and three more italian theaters. Also, do not miss the majestic neibourhood of Vaporia where ship captains used to build their mansions.

Do not forget to visit the medieval town of Ano Syros and walk its picturesque alleys. Take some time to admire the capuchin monastery and the cathedral church of st. George. Also, make sure you visit the museum of the great greek rembetiko composer Markos Vamvakaris.
